How to fix a parasol or umbrella end

It can happen to anyone: you’re using your umbrella or parasol and suddenly one of the ends loosen! Here’s how to fix it with just a simple needle and thread.

1

Choose a thread color that matches the color of the parasol. Cut a piece of thread about 90 cm long, thread it through the needle, and double it. Tie a triple knot at the end and pull both strands tight. Push the needle from the inside through the tip of the fabric.

2

Pass the needle through the eye of the metal end.

3

Tighten the fabric by holding it close to the tip with your other hand. Push the needle back through the fabric.

4

Repeat this process several times until everything is securely fastened.

5

Then wrap the thread several times around the fabric.

6

Finish off by making several overlapping stitches in the same spot. Cut off the thread – and you’re done!
