Description
This dress is made of dotted fabric (silk/wool blend), embellished with lace inserts, purple velvet flowers and ribbons, and beautiful embroidery work. This fabric is very delicate, making it probably only suited for display. The dots have a purple color too. The dress is probably from the 1860s.
The back closure has many many lovely tiny fabric buttons. I recommend not to use the loops for closing the dress, because the fabric near the loops is weak. It is possible to close the dress with the hooks and eyes from the inner dress.
The pink underdress is made of rayon with a silk chiffon layer. This inner dress is not the original one. I made it in the dress because the original pink silk one was unfortunately badly shredded..
Both sleeves are have many details too, with purple velvet ribbons lace ruffles and more. The sleeves are very small.
There is a small repair at the front of the outer layer of the dress. It doesn’t catch the eye because of the large silk rose at the front.
