Description
The most gracious dress I’ve ever seen. This cotton printed dress has 3 pieces: an underblouse, bodice and skirt.
1. Underblouse
This blouse is made of cream white cotton with long sleeves. These sleeves are covered with the same floral muslin fabric as both skirt and bodice. The fabric in this area has some damage. There is a bit underarm discoloration. The blouse has a button front closure and the square neckline has a lovely antique ribbon with a cotton tie behind so you can adapt its shape.
Measurements:
Waist: 66 cm, 26″
Bust: 82 cm, 32 1/4″
2. Floral bodice
The bodice is made of muslin floral print cotton fully linen with cotton. This bodice has baleens, puff sleeves, and the outside has a Bertha collar with a lovely tiny lace trim. What makes this so special is the short puff sleeves. It has a back closure of hooks and eyes.
Measurements:
Waist: 75 cm, 29.5″
Bust: 78 cm, 30 3/4″
3. Skirt:
This is a floral muslin cotton skirt with ruffles and ruffled lace trims. This skirt had machine made repairs when I found it. This is not how I mend antique clothing. I only work with a most tiny needle and thread or silk to do some mending. The machine-made repairs, however, make this dress wearable. The skirt is unlined. The floral print has red, green and yellow colors. You can also see a bit of blue. but that’s already mostly faded.
Measurements:
Waist: 65 cm-72 cm, 25.5″-28.5″
Length: 106 cm, 41.5″
